2. Working Principle of Fully Automatic Ultrafiltration Equipment

The operation of fully automatic ultrafiltration equipment is divided into four automatic cyclic stages: automatic water production, automatic cross-flow flushing, automatic backwashing and automatic chemical cleaning, all executed automatically by the built-in PLC program.

Stage 1: Automatic Normal Water Production

After the system is started with one button, the PLC automatically starts the raw water booster pump. Raw water enters the hollow fiber membrane component under stable pressure of 1.0–3.6 bar. Through the physical interception of 0.01~0.1μm membrane micropores, water molecules pass through the membrane to form qualified produced water for industrial use, while suspended solids, colloids, bacteria and macromolecular organic pollutants are intercepted on the membrane surface. The system keeps low-speed cross-flow concentrated water discharge to reduce pollutant accumulation.

Stage 2: Automatic Timed Cross-flow Scouring

According to the preset interval parameter, the PLC automatically opens the concentrated water drain valve to increase the flow velocity of membrane surface fluid, scouring loose dirt attached to the membrane surface outward to slow down membrane fouling speed.

Stage 3: Programmed Automatic Backwashing

When the running time reaches the set value or the system detects that the transmembrane pressure difference exceeds the threshold, the equipment automatically switches the pipeline direction, uses clean produced water for reverse backwashing to peel off the pollutants deposited inside the membrane pores, and discharges sewage automatically without manual valve operation.

Stage 4: Regular Automatic CIP Chemical Cleaning

After weeks or months of continuous operation, the system will automatically start the dosing pump to add matched acid and alkali cleaning agents into the membrane system for circulating cleaning, decompose organic dirt and biological slime, restore the original water flux of the membrane module, and automatically discharge waste liquid after cleaning is completed.

Meanwhile, the real-time monitoring module uploads pressure, flow and equipment operating status data to the touch screen, and triggers an automatic alarm once abnormal parameters occur to protect the safe operation of the whole set of equipment.
