Product Overview

Pall Ultipleat Element adopts a distinctive core-free large-diameter pleated design, greatly expanding effective filtration area compared with conventional small-diameter filter cartridges. The original HFU series has gained wide recognition for large-flow industrial fluid purification all over the world. However, high cost of genuine elements and long uncertain delivery cycles create budget constraints and project schedule risks for plant operators and engineering contractors. Our factory develops fully interchangeable replacement elements to deliver cost-effective solutions while meeting equivalent filtration performance standards.

The product portfolio covers mainstream sizes including 20”, 40” and 60” lengths, with filtration ratings ranging from 1μm to 50μm. Two primary media types are available: gradient polypropylene pleated media for general aqueous working conditions and micro glass fiber media for high-precision fine particle interception. Thermal fusion molding eliminates adhesive bonding, effectively preventing fiber shedding and secondary contamination to process fluid. Sealing materials such as Buna-N, EPDM and Viton can be selected to adapt to different temperature ranges and mild chemical environments. The maximum continuous operating temperature reaches 82°C, and the maximum allowable differential pressure stands at 3.4 bar, suitable for long-term 24/7 continuous industrial operation.

Every batch of finished elements undergoes dimensional tolerance inspection, bubble point efficiency testing and pressure tightness verification to ensure reliable interchangeability. It effectively intercepts suspended solids, pipeline rust, sediment and fine colloids, reducing membrane fouling risks and providing effective protection for downstream RO/NF membranes, water pumps and precision regulating valves.

Filtration Working Principle

Pall Ultipleat Element applies the mature inside-out filtration principle. Driven by system pressure, raw fluid enters the inner cavity of the coreless filter element and permeates outward through multi-layer gradient pleated media. Coarse sediment and large flocs are trapped by inner pleated layers, while micro-particles and colloids that easily induce membrane contamination are deeply intercepted by outer precision media layers.

Optimized crescent pleat arrangement minimizes fluid dead zones and prevents media deformation under pressure, maximizing dirt holding capacity. Pollutants remain sealed inside the element during replacement, avoiding secondary particle leakage and contamination of clean fluid pipelines. After purification, treated fluid flows into subsequent separation processes. Operators should replace filter elements promptly once inlet-outlet differential pressure rises to 25–35 PSID to restore the system’s rated flow capacity.

Core Competitive Advantages

Full Drop-in Interchangeability:

Consistent with original outer dimension, end cap structure, handle and sealing standards; no housing modification required to cut maintenance downtime.

Dual Media Options:

Polypropylene media with broad chemical compatibility for conventional pretreatment; glass fiber media offering high absolute efficiency for strict membrane protection requirements.

Excellent Dirt Holding Performance:

Enlarged effective filtration surface slows differential pressure growth and extends service intervals.

Economical Procurement Solution:

Direct factory supply removes intermediate links and ensures shorter lead times compared with imported genuine elements.

Strict Batch Quality Assurance:

Complete testing procedures guarantee stable performance for large-scale engineering orders.

FAQ

Q1: Can aftermarket Pall Ultipleat Element be directly installed into original Pall filter housings?

A1: Yes. All critical dimensions and interface structures comply with original design standards. Plug-and-play installation is supported without extra accessories or vessel adjustments.

Q2: How to select proper media for Pall Ultipleat Element?

A2: Polypropylene media suits general raw water treatment with wide chemical tolerance. Glass fiber media achieves higher absolute filtration efficiency and is recommended for projects requiring fine particle removal and rigorous RO membrane protection.

Q3: What differential pressure value indicates filter replacement?

A3: Inlet-outlet differential pressure is the main judging indicator. When pressure difference reaches 25–35 PSID, media is heavily clogged. Working conditions with high influent turbidity require shorter replacement cycles.

Q4: Can Pall Ultipleat Element be backwashed and reused?

A4: It is a disposable pleated filter consumable. Fine colloids and micro-particles embed deep into media pores. Conventional backwashing cannot fully recover initial filtration efficiency, so timely replacement is advised.

Q5: What specifications need to be confirmed before quotation?

A5: Please provide original part number, element length, micron rating, required seal material, operating temperature and working medium. Our technical team will verify compatibility and provide targeted filtration solutions.
