Product Introduction
As one key type of industrial water filter, the high flow filter cartridge is installed inside the water filter housing for geothermal raw water pre-treatment, and can be matched with a self-cleaning filter to build a complete multi-stage filtration system. Geothermal water usually carries a large amount of mineral scaling particles and metal oxides, which brings heavy burden to pretreatment filters. Many geothermal project owners rely on imported Pall filter elements, yet face high purchasing cost and long delivery lead times. Our HF644-40 high flow filter cartridge adopts reinforced polyamide pleated filter media, optimized to capture mineral precipitates and fine solids in geothermal water. It is fully interchangeable with mainstream Pall high flow elements, fits standard water filter housings, and effectively reduces particulate load before water enters the RO unit.
Working Principle

Geothermal raw water flows from outside to inside through the pleated media of HF644-40 high flow filter cartridge. Mineral crystals, iron oxide sludge and suspended sediment are trapped on the pleat surface and depth layer of filter media. Clean water flows through the inner core and exits the filter housing to the RO system.
Geothermal water often has relatively high temperature. The reinforced filter media maintains stable structural strength under continuous high-temperature working conditions, preventing pleat deformation or fiber shedding. The upstream self-cleaning filter removes large gravel and coarse sediment in advance, reducing impurity load on the HF644-40 high flow filter cartridge and slowing the rise of differential pressure.

Core Advantages
1. Customized for Geothermal Water Mineral Contaminants
Specially optimized to intercept mineral precipitates, iron and manganese oxides common in geothermal water. It avoids fast clogging caused by crystalline particles and protects RO membranes from scaling damage.
2. High Temperature Resistance for Geothermal Working Conditions
The reinforced PP material can withstand high temperature of geothermal water, maintaining stable filtration performance without media deformation, which outperforms ordinary filter cartridges under high-temperature raw water.
3. Direct Replacement for Pall High Flow Filter Elements
HF644-40 is designed as a drop-in alternative to Pall geothermal water filter cartridges. No modification is required for your existing water filter housing, helping cut spare part cost and shorten delivery cycle.
4. Large Dirt Holding Capacity Reduces Replacement Frequency
Wide pleated area captures massive solid impurities. Longer service cycle lowers maintenance workload and system shutdown frequency for geothermal projects.
5. Perfect Matching with Multi-stage Pretreatment
Combined with self-cleaning filter as the first-stage protection, it forms graded filtration, effectively shares pollutant load and keeps the whole pretreatment system running stably.
Application Scenarios

Geothermal power plant raw water pretreatment
Geothermal heating circulating water filtration
Geothermal water source heat pump prefiltration
Industrial pure water production using geothermal well water

FAQ
Q1: What is the maximum working temperature of HF644-40 high flow filter cartridge?
A1: The standard model can continuously work up to 80℃, which meets most geothermal water working conditions.
Q2: Can HF644-40 filter remove dissolved minerals in geothermal water?
A2: No. It can only intercept solid mineral precipitates and suspended particles. Dissolved ions still need RO membrane for desalination treatment.
Q3: Can HF644-40 directly replace Pall geothermal high flow filter cartridge?
A3: Yes. Same dimension and end cap options, it can be installed in your existing water filter housing without modification.
Q4: What micron rating is recommended for geothermal water pretreatment?
A4: 5μm or 10μm is commonly used. If raw water turbidity is high, install a self-cleaning filter in upstream to reduce solid load.
Q5: How to judge the replacement time of HF644-40 cartridge?
A5: Replace the element when inlet-outlet differential pressure reaches 2.0~2.5 bar, to avoid particle breakthrough and RO membrane fouling.
