Different from traditional small-bore filter cartridges with limited throughput, the Ultipleat crescent pleating design maximizes the effective filtration area, greatly improving liquid passing capacity and dirt holding performance. It is the preferred core filter consumable for large-volume water treatment systems in power, petrochemical, seawater desalination and industrial manufacturing industries worldwide.

Filtration Working Principle

Pall High Flow Filter Cartridge adopts a mature inside-out filtration working mode. Under the pressure drive of the pipeline system, raw liquid enters the inner cavity of the coreless filter cartridge and penetrates outward layer by layer through multi-layer gradient pleated media.

The gradient structural design realizes hierarchical filtration: large particle impurities such as sediment and flocs are trapped by the inner coarse filter layer, while tiny colloids and micro-particles that easily cause membrane blockage are deeply intercepted by the outer high-precision filter layer. The optimized crescent pleat arrangement eliminates fluid dead zones, reduces operating resistance, and maintains a low initial pressure difference. All intercepted pollutants are locked inside the cartridge, avoiding secondary leakage and clean fluid contamination during replacement.

When the system inlet and outlet differential pressure rises to 25–35 PSID, the filter media reaches the dirt holding limit. Timely replacement is required to restore the system’s rated high flow performance and filtration accuracy.
