Parker Mega‑Flow Fulflo Series Large Diameter High Flow Filter Cartridge

Product Description

Parker Mega‑Flow belongs to the Fulflo product family of large‑diameter high‑flow pleated filter cartridges, designed as an economical upgrade solution replacing traditional 2.5‑inch small‑size filter cartridges for high‑flow industrial filtration scenariosParkerGB. The core feature is the 6‑inch (152 mm) large outer‑diameter design; one single Mega‑Flow cartridge can reach the equivalent flow capacity of about 8 pieces of conventional 2.5‑inch × 40‑inch filter cartridges, greatly cutting the total quantity of filter elements inside filter housings, shrinking equipment footprint and lowering overall project capital investment.

This series includes multiple sub‑models such as MFNP005‑40N, MFNP010‑40N, MFNP050‑40N and MFNP050‑40N‑ITT, with nominal filtration ratings ranging from 0.5 μm to 10 μm, and mainstream length options of 20‑inch and 40‑inch. Most versions adopt full polypropylene construction: gradient pleated polypropylene filter media, reinforced PP inner and outer support cages, glass‑fiber‑filled polypropylene end caps and integrated lifting handles. Thermal‑fusion hot‑melt welding is applied throughout production without adhesive glue, avoiding fiber shedding and secondary fluid contamination. Standard Buna‑N nitrile O‑ring provides stable sealing performance, preventing unfiltered liquid bypass. The integrated handle supports tool‑free quick replacement, reducing on‑site maintenance labor and equipment downtimeParkerGB.

The series contains universal flat‑end‑cap models and special customized end‑cap variants for special housings. It supports maximum continuous operating temperature up to 82°C, with good chemical compatibility for neutral aqueous solutions, weak acid and weak‑alkali process fluids. As a general‑purpose industrial consumable, it is widely deployed for raw water purification, process liquid filtration and security pre‑filtration for reverse osmosis and ultrafiltration systems across multiple industries.

Working Principle

Parker Mega‑Flow high‑flow filter cartridges adopt mature outside‑in depth filtration principle. Raw water or industrial process liquid enters the filter housing under system operating pressure and flows to the outer pleated surface of the filter cartridge. The multi‑layer gradient pore filter media realizes graded interception: large‑size sediment and coarse flocs are trapped on the outer coarse‑pore layer, while fine suspended solids and colloidal particles are intercepted by the inner fine‑pore layer.

The gradient structure maximizes dirt‑holding space and slows the rising speed of inlet‑outlet differential pressure. After purification, liquid converges through the inner support core and flows to downstream RO, UF and other precision separation equipment. Reinforced inner‑outer support cages enhance structural rigidity to resist high‑speed water‑flow impact and prevent filter media collapse and liquid bypass. When the differential pressure rises to the 25‑30 PSID alarm threshold, operators need to replace the filter cartridge timely to restore rated flow and filtration efficiency of the whole water‑treatment system.

FAQ

Q1: What is Parker Mega‑Flow series?

A1: Parker Mega‑Flow is the Fulflo large‑diameter pleated high‑flow filter cartridge series, mainly represented by MFNP series models, 6‑inch outer diameter, covering 0.5‑10 μm precision, widely used for industrial high‑flow liquid filtration and RO pre‑filtrationParkerGB.

Q2: What is the difference between Mega‑Flow and Mega‑Flow Plus?

A2: Mega‑Flow adopts nominal‑rate filter media for general industrial pretreatment; Mega‑Flow Plus uses absolute‑rating media for scenarios requiring stricter particle removal performance.

Q3: When should Mega‑Flow series filter cartridges be replaced?

A3: Replace cartridges when inlet‑outlet differential pressure reaches 25‑30 PSID, or obvious flow attenuation occurs. Periodic replacement according to on‑site raw‑water quality is also recommended.

Q4: Can Parker Mega‑Flow cartridges be cleaned and reused?

A4: It is disposable pleated polypropylene filter element. After colloids and fine particles block internal pores, cleaning cannot fully restore filtration performance, direct replacement is suggested.

Q5: What shall be noticed for selecting Mega‑Flow models?

A5: Confirm filter housing inner structure (universal or special ITT end‑cap), select micron rating according to raw‑water SDI and downstream membrane requirements, and confirm seal material adapting to actual fluid temperature and chemical properties.
