High Flow Pleated Cartridge is a large-diameter, high dirt-holding filter element designed for the pretreatment section of industrial ultrafiltration water treatment systems. The standard filter media material is virgin polypropylene, with micron ratings ranging from 0.5 micron up to 100 micron, which can adapt to different raw water turbidity and impurity types. Working Principle

High Flow Pleated Cartridge relies on the combination of surface filtration and depth filtration to remove solid contaminants. Raw water flows radially inward from the outer pleated surface of filter media, passing through multi-layer folded fiber web. Larger impurities like sediment and rust deposits are captured on the outer pleated surface of filter media. Fine colloids and micro suspended particles penetrate the fiber layers and get trapped inside the gaps of fiber structure.

The deep pleated design maximizes the usable filtration area for each High Flow Pleated Cartridge, distributing pollutant loads evenly across the whole filter media surface. This slows the speed of surface clogging, delays the rise of differential pressure between filter inlet and outlet, and improves the dirt holding capacity of the cartridge. When pressure difference between inlet and outlet reaches the preset threshold, filter media becomes saturated with intercepted contaminants, and site operators need to shut down the system and replace the High Flow Pleated Cartridge.

This filter cartridge forms the primary protective barrier for ultrafiltration membranes. Without effective upstream prefiltration, fine solid particles in raw water may scratch membrane surfaces, block membrane pores and lead to permanent fouling of UF membranes.
