The whole structure of filter water cartridge consists of pleated filter media, internal support skeleton, upper and lower end caps and sealing rings. Optional raw materials include polypropylene, glass fiber and PTFE. Filtration precision covers 1μm to 50μm. Common connection types are 226 fin connector and flat open end cap, compatible with mainstream stainless steel filter housings in the market. The whole water purification process forms three-level progressive filtration: liquid filter coarse filtration → filter water cartridge precision filtration → ultrafiltration membrane deep separation. The filter cartridge captures pollutants of different particle sizes through physical interception, inertial deposition and adsorption of multi-layer filter media.
After preliminary coarse filtration by front liquid filter, raw water enters filter housing and permeates inward from outer filter layer toward the central water collecting pipe of filter water cartridge. Large impurities are intercepted by outer coarse filter layer, tiny colloids and organic pollutants are captured by inner fine filter layer. Purified water converges in central pipeline and steadily flows into ultrafiltration equipment to remove bacteria, macromolecular organics and residual micro suspended substances. Optimized folding design maintains low system pressure drop under continuous high-flow operation, avoiding insufficient water supply during continuous water production of ultrafiltration units.
Pollutants accumulate gradually on filter media during long-term operation, leading to constant rise of inlet and outlet differential pressure. When pressure difference reaches the warning value of 0.25MPa, operators need to replace filter water cartridge timely. Blocked filter cartridges will increase pump load, reduce ultrafiltration water yield and accelerate membrane contamination.
Water treated by filter water cartridge can be used as backwashing water source of ultrafiltration membrane modules. Mixed with compressed air to form gas-water cleaning medium, it can thoroughly flush pollutants attached on ultrafiltration membrane surface, effectively slowing down membrane fouling and extending the chemical cleaning cycle of ultrafiltration equipment.
