2. Working Principle of Tubular Ultrafiltration Device

Tubular ultrafiltration device adopts pressure-driven internal cross-flow filtration mode. The built-in PLC control system automatically switches three working modes: normal water production, automatic backwashing and periodic chemical cleaning.

2.1 Normal Cross-flow Filtration Stage

Raw wastewater first filters out large solid impurities through the front liquid filter, and is pumped into the inner cavity of tubular membranes at a high flow velocity. Under transmembrane pressure, water molecules and small soluble substances pass through the membrane tube wall to form clear permeate water for subsequent reuse or advanced treatment. Pollutants such as sludge and oil are trapped inside the membrane tube. High-speed flowing feed liquid continuously scours the inner wall of the membrane tube to restrain pollutant deposition and slow down the rise of system pressure difference.

2.2 Automatic Backwashing Regeneration Stage

As pollutants accumulate on the membrane inner wall, the inlet and outlet pressure difference of membrane modules gradually rises. Once the pressure difference hits the set alarm value, the system automatically switches the valve group for reverse flushing with clean produced water to wash off loose dirt inside tubular membranes, and concentrated waste liquid is discharged out of the device. The whole backwashing process takes only 3–7 minutes without long-term system shutdown.

2.3 Regular Chemical Deep Cleaning

Routine backwashing cannot remove firmly adsorbed organic fouling and oil dirt. The matched dosing system uses acidic and alkaline cleaning agents for circulating soaking cleaning to restore the original flux of tubular membranes and keep the device operating efficiently for a long period.
