2. Working Principle

The core working mechanism of the UF ultrafiltration water purification equipment produced by our manufacturer is pressure-driven cross-flow physical sieving separation. After the raw water is pressurized by the system feed pump to the working pressure of 1.0 ~ 4.0 bar, the fluid flows tangentially along the surface or inner wall of the built-in ultrafiltration membrane elements at a stable flow velocity.

Water molecules and dissolved small molecular inorganic salts pass through the micropores of the membrane selective layer smoothly under pressure to form qualified clean permeate water, which is collected and delivered to the clean water tank through the water production pipeline. Pollutants such as suspended particles, colloidal flocs, microbial flora and organic macromolecules larger than the membrane molecular weight cutoff are intercepted on the membrane surface. The high-speed cross-flow scours the membrane surface continuously, takes away most intercepted pollutants with concentrated water discharge, slows down the accumulation speed of dirt, and maintains stable water production flux for a long time.

Two sets of automatic maintenance logic are preset in the control program of our manufacturer’s UF ultrafiltration equipment. First is automatic periodic backwashing: the equipment uses self-produced clean water to reversely flush the membrane layer to peel off loose surface dirt, and the whole process runs automatically without manual intervention in daily operation.
