Product Introduction
The Donaldson high flow filter cartridge belongs to the premium LifeTec™ PP100 HF line, a reliable industrial water filter for high-volume aqueous working conditions. This high flow filter cartridge can be installed into matched high flow filter housings, and it can work in series with a self-cleaning filter to build multi-stage pretreatment chains for heavy-duty water treatment projects. It is manufactured with robust polypropylene pleated media and asymmetrical pore layout, which improves contaminant loading and slows down fouling rate. Produced in Class 7 cleanroom, it meets food contact standards including US CFR Title 21 and EC 1935/2004, and NSF 42 certification is available for drinking water applications. Its 6-inch large diameter design greatly raises single-element flow, reducing the total number of cartridges and housings, which saves footprint, installation labor and later maintenance expense. Multiple micron ratings and seal material options are provided to adapt to different chemical environments.

Working Principle
Water flows from outside to inside through the pleated media of Donaldson LifeTec high flow cartridge. Suspended silt, particles, colloids and organic debris are trapped layer by layer inside the graded asymmetrical pore structure. The graded pore design captures large particles on the outer pleats while fine particles are retained in inner media layers, making full use of the whole filter area and delaying pressure rise. The purified water converges at the central core and flows out from the outlet. When paired with a self-cleaning filter, large floating debris and coarse sediment are intercepted in advance, so the high flow cartridge only undertakes fine particle removal, greatly extending its service cycle. Operators judge replacement timing by monitoring inlet and outlet differential pressure.
Core Advantages
1. Asymmetrical graded pore media:
Optimized pollutant distribution, higher dirt holding capacity and longer service interval.
2. Absolute filtration rating:
Stable particle removal efficiency, reliable protection for downstream RO membranes.
3. Food-contact compliant:
Cleanroom production, suitable for drinking water and food & beverage production.
4. Low initial pressure drop:
Maintain stable flow under long continuous operation, reduce pump energy consumption.
5. Large single-cartridge throughput:
6-inch outer diameter, fewer cartridges required for the same flow demand.
6. Broad chemical compatibility:
Pure polypropylene construction, good resistance to most dilute acid, alkali and aqueous solutions.
7. Standard interface:
Quick installation and replacement, compatible with Donaldson HF series filter housings.

FAQ
Q1: What is the unique advantage of Donaldson LifeTec PP100 HF cartridge compared with ordinary pleated cartridges?
A: Its asymmetrical graded pore structure distributes contaminants evenly across the whole media, avoiding early surface blinding and extending service life.
Q2: Can it be used for drinking water?
A: Yes, selected models hold NSF 42 certification and comply with global food-contact regulations for potable water.
Q3: Can this cartridge cooperate with self-cleaning filter?
A: Yes. The self-cleaning filter removes coarse impurities first, and the Donaldson high flow cartridge handles fine filtration, forming a two-stage protection system.
Q4: Are interchangeable alternatives available?
A: Yes, we supply drop-in replacement cartridges with identical dimension, flow and micron rating, helping you reduce procurement cost.
Q5: When should we replace the cartridge?
A: Replace the element when differential pressure reaches 0.07–0.1 MPa.
