The Harmsco high flow filter cartridge is a premium pleated filter element from the Hurricane series, a mature and stable industrial water filter for a wide range of aqueous working conditions. This high flow filter cartridge can be assembled into high flow filter housings, and can work in series with a self-cleaning filter to form two-stage pretreatment, intercepting large debris first and then removing fine particles to extend cartridge service life. It adopts thermally integrated pleated structure with double O-ring sealing design, the media, center core and end cap are bonded into one piece to avoid bypass leakage. It provides multiple media options including polypropylene and polyester, with micron grades ranging from 0.35μm up to 150μm. With huge effective filtration area, one single cartridge can handle tremendous flow, greatly reducing the total quantity of filter cartridges and housings, cutting down installation space and maintenance workload. Working Principle
Harmsco Hurricane high flow cartridge mostly adopts up-flow filtration design. Raw water enters the filter housing tangentially, and the rotational flow helps separate heavy sediment before reaching the pleated media. Fine suspended particles, colloids and silt are trapped on the surface and inside the pleated layers. Clean water permeates the media and flows out from the central core. The special pleated structure keeps the media from compacting easily during operation, maintaining stable low differential pressure. When the inlet-outlet pressure difference rises to the preset threshold, the cartridge is saturated and needs replacement. When matched with a self-cleaning filter, coarse impurities are removed in advance, reducing the contaminant load on the Harmsco cartridge and prolonging service cycles.
