Product Introduction
The industrial water filtration cartridge is a disposable or reusable filter element designed for liquid purification in industrial water circuits. It fits standard water filter housing, and often works in tandem with a self-cleaning filter and industrial water filteras the secondary polishing stage after coarse filtration. Our product portfolio also includes high flow filter cartridge options for large-volume water treatment scenarios. Different construction types including melt-blown PP, pleated PP, string wound, carbon block and membrane cartridges are available, covering micron grades from 0.1μm to 100μm. Imported cartridges from Pall and 3M dominate many traditional projects, yet they come with obvious drawbacks: long lead time, high unit price and limited customized size options. Our LEFILTER industrial water filtration cartridge adopts gradient-density filter media and optimized thermal bonding technology, delivering comparable absolute filtration accuracy while shortening delivery cycle and reducing annual filter replacement expense. It is widely deployed in RO pretreatment, cooling water loop, food beverage production, chemical raw liquid filtration and underground water treatment.

Working Principle
Most industrial water filtration cartridges adopt depth filtration or surface pleated filtration mechanism. For melt-blown and string wound depth cartridges, water flows from outer surface toward the inner support core; contaminants are trapped gradually in the layered fiber structure, so the filter gains larger dirt holding capacity instead of blocking immediately on the outer layer. For pleated membrane cartridges, the folded membrane surface provides huge effective filtration area, intercepting fine particles on the membrane surface for high-precision polishing. When paired with a self-cleaning filter, the self-cleaning unit removes large impurities first, protecting the downstream industrial water filtration cartridge from rapid clogging and extending service life significantly. The pressure differential across the cartridge is the key indicator: once the pressure drop rises to the preset threshold, the cartridge needs replacement or cleaning.
Main Types of Industrial Water Filtration Cartridge
1. Melt-blown PP Cartridge
This is the most common sediment cartridge. The continuous polypropylene fiber is thermally fused into gradient pore structure, no adhesive added, so it meets food-grade and low-extractable requirements. Typical micron ratings: 1μm, 5μm, 10μm, 20μm. It is suitable for raw water sediment removal and RO front pretreatment. Compared with equivalent Pall sediment cartridges, our melt-blown cartridge has tighter fiber distribution consistency, avoiding early channeling caused by uneven pore size.
2. Pleated PP Cartridge
Pleated design multiplies filtration area under the same housing dimension. It features low initial pressure drop, high flow rate and absolute rating performance. It is preferred for high-flow pretreatment and fine polishing. Many 3M pleated cartridges use fixed fold numbers and fixed end cap styles; our version supports customized pleat count, DOE / SOE end cap and EPDM / silicone seal options to match most existing water filter housing.
3. String Wound Cartridge
Yarn wound around a rigid PP core, good for high turbidity water with large solid load. It is cost-effective for rough filtration of cooling tower water and underground water. Its weakness is fiber shedding risk under unstable water pressure, so it is not recommended for ultra-pure water polishing.
4. Carbon Block Cartridge
Activated carbon powder sintered into block structure, removing residual chlorine, organic matter, color and odor. It is widely used in food & beverage and pharmaceutical water lines.
5. Membrane Cartridge (PES / PTFE / Nylon)
For sterile filtration and ultra-fine precision demands, 0.1μm ~ 0.45μm membrane cartridges are adopted, suitable for pharmaceutical, electronic ultrapure water and sterile water systems.

FAQ
Q1: What is the difference between depth filter cartridge and pleated filter cartridge?
A: Depth cartridges trap contaminants inside the fiber layer with higher dirt holding capacity. Pleated cartridges rely on surface interception, with larger flow area and lower initial pressure drop for fine polishing.
Q2: How to judge when to replace the industrial water filtration cartridge?
A: Monitor the pressure difference before and after the filter housing. Normally replace when differential pressure reaches 0.25–0.35 MPa.
Q3: Can these cartridges be used with a self-cleaning filter together?
A: Yes. Self-cleaning filter removes large particles first, protecting downstream filter cartridges and greatly extending service life.
Q4: What gasket material should I choose?
A: Silicone for food water; EPDM for general industrial water; Viton for oil-containing or high-temperature corrosive liquid.
Q5: Is your cartridge a direct replacement for Pall and 3M filter cartridges?
A: Most models can be interchangeable with the same size and micron rating, with competitive cost and faster delivery.
