MFNP050‑40N‑ITT Parker Cartridge 5 Micron High‑Flow Pleated Filter Cartridge

MFNP050‑40N‑ITT Parker Cartridge is a 5‑micron nominal high‑flow pleated filter cartridge from Parker Mega‑Flow series, designed for large‑capacity industrial water pretreatment and widely deployed as security pre‑filtration for reverse osmosis systems. It works alongside PFTM102UEPFA high flow filter cartridge, and cooperates with HFU660CAS010JUW high flow filter cartridge to deliver reliable particle removal for seawater desalination, power plant boiler feed‑water and industrial water reuse projects. MFNP050‑40N‑ITT adopts multi‑layer progressive polypropylene pleated media, with 40‑inch length and 6‑inch large outer diameter, featuring huge dirt‑holding capacity and low initial pressure drop. It efficiently intercepts fine sediment, suspended solids and colloidal contaminants, protecting expensive downstream RO membrane modules from particle abrasion and premature fouling. Built‑in lifting handle and integrated O‑ring sealing structure enable fast tool‑free cartridge replacement, cutting downtime and reducing overall operating costs for global industrial water‑treatment facilities.

Product Description

MFNP050‑40N‑ITT Parker Cartridge belongs to Parker Mega‑Flow high‑flow filter cartridge series, specially developed for heavy‑duty large‑flow liquid pre‑filtration and RO membrane guard filtration scenarios. Nominal dimension is 40‑inch (1016 mm) length, 6‑inch (152 mm) outer diameter, adopting core‑less single open‑end structure with outside‑in flow direction. Single cartridge can achieve maximum flow up to 1300 LPM, greatly reducing required cartridge quantity and housing size compared with conventional small‑size filter cartridges.

This parker cartridge adopts full poly‑propylene construction: multi‑layer gradient pleated polypropylene filter media, reinforced inner‑outer polypropylene support cages, glass‑fiber reinforced PP end caps and integrated nitrile O‑ring seal. All joints adopt thermal fusion hot‑melt welding without adhesive, avoiding secondary water pollution caused by glue dissolution. Large pleated area delivers high filtration surface for extended service life. Nominal filtration rating is 5 micron, focusing on removing fine silt, suspended particles and colloidal substances before high‑precision RO membrane systems.

Integrated molded lifting handle is embedded on the open‑end side for convenient pulling‑out and installation during on‑site maintenance, suitable for both vertical and horizontal high‑flow filter housings. When cooperating with upstream multimedia filtration and activated carbon pretreatment devices, the whole filtration system can steadily control feed‑water SDI value below 5, meeting strict inlet‑water requirements of seawater and brackish‑water reverse osmosis systems. This parker filter cartridge is widely stocked by EPC contractors, power plants, water‑treatment plant operators and filter spare‑part purchasers. Standard maximum continuous operating temperature reaches 80 °C; optional EPDM, silicone and fluororubber seals are available for special working‑condition demands.

Working Principle

MFNP050‑40N‑ITT Parker Cartridge follows outside‑in cross‑flow depth microfiltration principle. Untreated raw water enters the high‑flow filter housing and evenly spreads toward the outer pleated surface of MFNP050‑40N‑ITT cartridge. Driven by system operating pressure, large‑particle sediment and coarse suspended flocs are trapped on outer pleated layers, while fine particles and colloids are intercepted layer‑by‑layer through gradient poly‑propylene media from outer surface to inner core.

Purified filtrate penetrates filter media layers, converges inside inner core and flows out toward downstream RO or UF membrane units. Outer‑coarse‑inner‑fine gradient pore‑size structure maximizes dirt‑holding capacity and slows rising speed of inlet‑outlet differential pressure. With continuous system running, intercepted pollutants accumulate gradually on filter media surface. Operators must replace the cartridge timely when differential pressure reaches 25‑30 PSID alarm threshold, so as to restore rated water throughput and filtration performance.

Full‑polypropylene material provides reliable chemical compatibility, adapting to most neutral aqueous solutions and common acid‑base cleaning agents for housing maintenance. Reinforced inner‑outer support cages effectively prevent media collapse and deformation under high‑velocity water‑flow impact, avoid fluid bypass phenomenon, and guarantee stable 5‑micron particle‑removal efficiency throughout service life.

Technical Features
