Pentair Aqualine Filter Industrial High‑Flow Pleated Filtration Solution

Pentair Aqualine Filter is a well‑known high‑flow pleated filtration system widely deployed in large‑capacity industrial water treatment and membrane pre‑treatment projects. It is commonly installed within horizontal FRP filter housings and matched with PFTM102UEPFA high flow filter cartridge, together with POV12UNPFA high flow filter cartridge to construct complete pretreatment workflows for seawater desalination, power plant boiler water make‑up and industrial water reuse. Pentair Aqualine Filter adopts cross‑linked gradient polypropylene pleated media, featuring large effective filtration area, low initial pressure drop and superior dirt‑holding capacity. It efficiently intercepts suspended solids, fine silt and colloidal impurities, delivering reliable pre‑protection for expensive reverse osmosis and ultrafiltration membrane components against particle abrasion and premature fouling. Equipped with single open‑end flow path, integrated molded handle and single O‑ring sealing design, this filter series supports tool‑free rapid cartridge replacement, greatly reducing equipment downtime and daily maintenance costs for global industrial water‑treatment sites.

Product Description

Pentair Aqualine Filter covers the whole high‑flow filtration assembly including filter housings and corresponding pleated filter cartridges. The most representative cartridge models are ALN01‑60B, ALN05‑60B, ALN10‑60B and ALN20‑60B, with standard cartridge dimension of 60‑inch length and 6.75‑inch outer diameter, single open‑end structure designed for heavy‑duty high‑flow working conditions.

The Aqualine filter cartridge adopts full polypropylene construction, composed of reinforced inner‑outer support cages, cross‑linked gradient pleated polypropylene media, injection‑molded reinforced end caps, rigid PVC central core and high‑elasticity O‑ring gaskets. All connection joints are processed by thermal fusion welding without adhesive, completely avoiding secondary fluid contamination caused by glue dissolution. Deep‑pleated structural design maximizes effective filtration area per cartridge, achieving outstanding single‑element flux and decreasing the total number of cartridges required by the system. Multiple micron ratings ranging from 1 μm to 90 μm can satisfy different raw‑water pretreatment requirements.

The supporting Aqualine‑style FRP horizontal filter housing is specially optimized for this series of large‑diameter cartridges, allowing multiple cartridges to be installed in parallel to cope with large water‑volume conditions. Cooperated with upstream multimedia filtration and activated carbon treatment, Pentair Aqualine Filter can stably control feed‑water SDI value below 5, meeting strict inlet water standards of seawater and brackish‑water reverse osmosis systems. It is widely used in seawater desalination pretreatment, boiler makeup‑water filtration, petrochemical process‑liquid purification, electronic ultrapure‑water production and industrial wastewater recycling. Engineering contractors and end‑users choose Pentair Aqualine Filter for new water‑treatment skid projects and regular spare‑part updating.

Working Principle

Pentair Aqualine Filter follows outside‑in cross‑flow microfiltration principle. Untreated raw water flows into the sealed FRP filter housing and evenly distributes to the outer surface of pleated filter cartridges. Large‑particle sediment, suspended flocs and coarse impurities are trapped on the outer pleated layers, while tiny colloids and fine particles are intercepted layer by layer through gradient inner polypropylene media.

After depth filtration, clean filtrate penetrates filter media, converges inside the rigid PVC central core and flows out to downstream RO or UF membrane systems. The outer‑coarse‑inner‑fine gradient structure improves dirt‑holding capacity and slows differential‑pressure rising speed. With continuous system operation, intercepted pollutants accumulate gradually. Operators should replace filter cartridges timely when inlet‑outlet differential pressure reaches 25‑30 PSID threshold, so as to restore rated water throughput and filtration performance.

All‑polypropylene material has good chemical compatibility, adapting to most neutral aqueous solutions and conventional acid‑base cleaning agents for housing maintenance. Reinforced inner‑outer support cages effectively resist deformation under high‑speed water‑flow impact and prevent fluid bypass, ensuring stable particle‑removal efficiency in the whole service cycle. Standard continuous operating temperature of Aqualine filter cartridges is 54.4 °C (130 °F).
