Product Description

TSE series is spiral-wound nano-modified aromatic polyamide thin-film composite seawater reverse osmosis membrane, covering complete 4040 small-size and 8040 large-size full specifications to match distributed skid-mounted and large coastal desalination plants. It adopts precise nanoscale pore control & surface negative charge dual modification technology, optimizes 34mil thick biostatic wide feed spacer, effectively suppresses concentration polarization under 32000–35000mg/L high-salinity seawater.

Traditional seawater RO membranes struggle to remove tiny neutral boron molecules, requiring two-pass RO system to meet drinking water boron standards. TSE series achieves qualified boron index via single-pass desalination, cutting system investment and energy consumption by 20%. It can stably intercept sodium chloride, boron ions, heavy metals, colloids, microorganisms and organic pollutants in raw seawater, producing permeate water that meets WHO drinking water boron limit standard (<0.5mg/L). All semi-finished membrane sheets and finished elements are self-produced in-house, with consistent batch flux and rejection rate, serving as core membrane element for high-standard seawater desalination.

Technical Characteristics

1. Premium interception performance: Stabilized salt rejection ≥99.88%, minimum guaranteed salt rejection ≥99.75; stabilized boron rejection ≥93.5%, far exceeding conventional seawater membrane index

2. Standard test conditions: 32000mg/L NaCl +5mg boron solution, 5.52MPa(800psi) operating pressure, 25℃, single element recovery 8%, test pH=8

3. Full-size coverage: TSE-4040 (4 inch, effective area 86ft²/8.0㎡, standard flow 1850GPD/7.0m³/d); TSE-8040 (8 inch, effective area 400ft²/37.2㎡, standard flow 6600GPD/25.0m³/d)

4. Wide chemical tolerance: Continuous running pH 2.0–11.0; chemical cleaning pH 1.0–13.0, support acid & alkali alternate cleaning without membrane layer damage

5. Operating environment range: Working temperature 5℃–45℃, max withstand pressure 8.27MPa(1200psi)

6. Strict inlet control threshold: Max inlet SDI15 ≤5.0, inlet turbidity ≤1.0NTU, residual chlorine ≤0.1mg/L to avoid irreversible membrane oxidation

7. Anti-fouling flow channel: 34mil thick biostatic spacer eliminates dead zones, reduces algae & colloid adhesion, extends chemical cleaning cycle

8. Reinforced fiberglass shell: High mechanical strength, anti-pressure impact, supports multi-element series connection inside pressure vessels

Core Product Advantages

1. Single-pass reaches high boron standard, greatly reduces system cost

93.5% boron rejection realizes qualified drinking water without secondary RO treatment, cancels second-pass equipment, lowers pump power consumption, equipment investment and floor space cost by nearly 20% compared with ordinary seawater membrane systems.

2. Ultra-high desalination stability, long-term consistent water quality

Nano-modified polyamide separation layer with uniform nanopores, salt permeability reduced by over 50% vs traditional membranes. No obvious flux & rejection attenuation within 4 years of continuous operation, stable permeate TDS and boron concentration.

3. Excellent anti-fouling & long service life

Hydrophilic negative charge membrane surface repels charged contaminants electrostatically; thick wide flow channel weakens concentration polarization. With standard pretreatment, chemical cleaning interval reaches 8–10 months, normal service life 4–5 years.

4. Complete independent R&D & strict quality control

Supported by over 100 proprietary invention patents for membrane material modification. 100% full inspection of each finished element for flux, salt rejection, boron rejection and pressure resistance; NSF/ANSI 61 food-grade material, no toxic precipitation, safe for drinking water production.

5. Full-size matching, flexible system collocation

4040 small size for ships, islands, mobile emergency desalination skids; 8040 large size for coastal large-scale desalination plants. Universal standard dimension compatible with all mainstream domestic & imported membrane housings, easy replacement for old systems.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1: What is the biggest advantage of TSE series compared with ordinary seawater RO membranes?

A1: Core highlight is ultra-high boron rejection ≥93.5%. Most common seawater membranes only reach 90–92% boron removal and require two-pass system, while TSE series achieves standard water quality via single pass, saving overall project cost and energy consumption.

Q2: What seawater salinity range is TSE series applicable to?

A2: Designed for standard seawater with TDS 32000–35000ppm, suitable for all natural coastal seawater working conditions.

Q3: What is the service life of TSE seawater membrane under standard operation?

A3: With complete pretreatment, regular cleaning and pressure standardized control, service life reaches 4–5 years; overpressure or unqualified inlet water will shorten service life sharply.

Q4: How long is the chemical cleaning cycle of TSE series?

A4: When inlet SDI ≤5.0 and raw water turbidity meets standard, cleaning cycle is 8–10 months, longer than conventional seawater membranes.

Q5: Can TSE series replace old imported seawater membranes directly?

A5: Yes, TSE-4040 / TSE-8040 adopt universal standard dimensions, fully compatible with original membrane housings without system transformation.
