QuantumFlux™ UF Module LG Chem Equivalent

LG Chem QuantumFlux™ Industrial Grade UF Module Equivalent

Product Introduction

The QuantumFlux™ UF Module is a high-performance ultrafiltration (UF) solution engineered as a reliable and cost-effective alternative to the LG Chem UF membrane series. Designed for industrial and municipal applications, this module provides outstanding filtration performance, long-term stability, and ease of integration into existing systems. It effectively removes turbidity, suspended solids, bacteria, and other fine particulates from water, making it suitable for drinking water production, wastewater treatment, seawater desalination pretreatment, and more.

QuantumFlux™ is built using advanced hollow fiber membrane technology with a nominal pore size of 0.03 µm. It provides consistent water quality even under challenging feedwater conditions and meets the growing demand for sustainable, energy-efficient water purification systems.

Working Principle

The QuantumFlux™ UF Module utilizes an outside-in filtration mechanism through hollow fiber membranes. Here’s how the filtration process works:

1.    Feed Water Inlet
Untreated water enters the module and flows around the outside of the hollow fibers.

2.    Filtration Process
As water is forced through the fiber walls, particles larger than 0.03 µm are rejected. This includes bacteria, algae, and suspended solids. Only clean water permeates through the hollow fiber into the lumen (center).

3.    Permeate Collection
The clean, filtered water (permeate) is collected from the inner channel and routed to downstream processes.

4.    Backwashing and Air Scouring
Periodic automatic backwash and air scouring cycles help dislodge foulants and restore membrane permeability, reducing maintenance frequency and extending membrane life.

This reliable membrane design ensures stable operation with minimal downtime and low energy consumption.

Key Features

LG Chem Equivalent Design

Engineered as a drop-in replacement for LG Chem UF modules, QuantumFlux™ matches dimensions, connection types, and performance specifications, enabling seamless upgrades or replacements in existing systems.

Advanced Hollow Fiber Membrane

Constructed with durable PVDF (polyvinylidene fluoride) or PES (polyethersulfone), the hollow fibers offer high tensile strength, chemical resistance, and long service life.

Consistent Permeate Quality

Delivers turbidity below 0.1 NTU, with >4 log reduction of bacteria and >3 log virus removal, making it ideal for potable and process water.

Wide Chemical Compatibility

Operates across a broad pH range (2–12 during cleaning) and tolerates oxidizing agents, enabling aggressive and effective chemical cleaning when required.

Modular & Scalable

The compact design supports modular expansion and can be configured in parallel or series to meet specific flow and space requirements.

Energy Efficient

Requires low transmembrane pressure (0.1–0.3 MPa), reducing operational costs while maintaining high water recovery rates.

Long-Term Stability

Designed to last 5–7 years under standard operating conditions, with reduced fouling due to robust membrane chemistry and effective cleaning strategies.
