Working Principle

The dizzer® XL 0.9 MB 60 WR UF membrane functions based on the outside-in flow configuration using Multibore® UF membrane fibers. These fibers consist of seven capillaries integrated into a single fiber, enhancing mechanical stability and ensuring consistent filtration even under fluctuating pressure conditions.

Here’s how the process works:

1.    Feed Water Entry: Contaminated water enters the shell side of the module and surrounds the outside surface of the hollow fibers.

2.    Filtration: Under low pressure, water passes through the 0.02 µm pores of the membrane. Suspended solids, bacteria, viruses, and colloids are retained on the outer surface.

3.    Permeate Collection: Clean water flows into the lumen of the fibers and is collected at the end of the module.

4.    Backwashing/CIP: The module supports periodic backwashing and chemical cleaning (CIP) to restore membrane permeability and maintain performance.

This filtration process ensures that only purified water passes through, delivering consistent quality with minimal fouling.
